In the mid-sixties, Formula 4 equipped with Ducati engines was intended to be a step in the borderland for drivers between go-karts and Formula 3. At the same time, Formula Ford and Formula Vee were introduced, both of which developed into large entry-level classes. The competition became too great and Formula 4 never really got hold of Sweden. The Tecno brand, on the other hand, was of great importance to the future international Swedish racing star Ronnie Peterson, who raced this particular car early in his career.
