The latest generation Ford GT, unveiled in 2017 and concluding production in 2022, is a cutting-edge homage to Ford’s legendary GT40, which dominated Le Mans in the 1960s. Designed as a high-performance supercar, this generation of the GT is powered by a
3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, producing 647 horsepower and achieving a top speed of 216 mph. Ford implemented a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque chassis, paired with active aerodynamics and a race-inspired suspension, allowing the car to excel on both road and track. Limited to only 1,350 units, the modern GT’s design emphasises Ford's dedication to innovation and pays tribute to its motorsport heritage.
Entering the final year of production, the 2022 Ford GT Heritage Edition paid homage to the 1964 Ford GT prototypes that led to America’s only Le Mans-winning supercar, with wins from 1966 to 1969, and again in 2016 A modern interpretation of the original, combining classic Ford Performance features such as Wimbledon White paint and a triple racing stripe with contemporary touches including exposed carbon fibre behind Antimatter Blue-painted carbon fibre wheels and Lightspeed Blue Alcantara suede seats.
